Maryland Declares State Of Emergency As Winter Storm Nears, National Guard Activated
Maryland has officially escalated its response to an incoming winter storm, with Gov. Wes Moore declaring a statewide State of Emergency as heavy snow, ice, power outages, and dangerous cold are expected to slam the region this weekend.
The executive order, signed Friday, Jan. 23, declares that an emergency exists across Maryland ahead of a significant winter storm forecast to arrive Saturday afternoon and last through Monday, Jan. 26, according to the governor’s office.
